The exercise program is a unique part of Adult Day Services. Individuals welcome the opportunity to get out of their chairs to stretch, increase strength and endurance, relax and socialize with peers. Other skills such as eye-hand coordination, switch activation and attention to task are enjoyed by many. The atmosphere stimulates individuals' senses while making the room a fun place to be. It is here that individuals are able to follow through with therapeutic exercise. |

Unique to CP is our adapted computer lab. In computer classes, participants have the opportunity to utilize and learn a variety of computer technology and software programs. Types of software we use range from simple cause and effect programs to Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Since the abilities vary, the Adult Day Service staff works with the individual to find the least complicated and most successful way to access the computer; using touch screens, headmouse, adapted keyboards or single switch.

Currently, a group of clients at each facility work on the quarterly client newsletter. The group meets once a week, works together and puts out a great newsletter. The computer lab also gives individuals an opportunity to access games, access the internet, learn pre-vocational skills and have paid work opportunities.
You can also purchase items made by the clients in the computer room. To find out more about our Computer Work Activities Program and items you can purchase click here.

Here at CP we are able to offer something rather unique to most day service facilities: a therapeutic pool. Individuals benefit immensely from the warm water (92 degrees). Through the use of floatation equipment, clients are able to be independent in the water and experience the sensory input the water provides. The pool is an excellent environment to work on standing, walking, relaxation, range of motion and sensory issues. |
 |
| |
It also gives individuals an opportunity to relax, have fun and be more independent. If you would like to learn more about our therapeutic pools, click here. |
